This is the most conveniently located hotel for traveling to the art islands if you don’t have a car. It is literally across the street from the JR Uno Port station and less than 10 minutes walk to the ferry and small transport boats. The dorm style rooms are clean, well-lit, and tastefully decorated. They provide a coat tree type structure with many pegs for you to hang things off of, and there’s even a little bedside table with a safe built into it. The dorm area was well ventilated and smelled nice, and there was plenty of space to move around. I really liked how the pajamas they provided felt - a cool-to-the-touch breathable material. The additional amenities provided by this hotel were wonderful. There is a community area with a variety of loose leaf Japanese teas, complimentary ice cream in the freezer, and Japanese snacks. The community area directly overlooks the port, and there’s a fantastic view of the water and some islands. The room came with an onsen ticket for the duration of the stay which was perfect after an active day of walking and biking around the islands. The breakfast is also excellent, featuring a lot of fresh, local produce.

Uno Hotel is newly built (maybe 2022 or 23?) so clean and well presented. Rooms are modern and spacious and the location is good being across the road from the bus / train station where we arrived on the Rainbow Bus from Okayama Station. The port with the ferry to Naoshima is also walking distance. The public bath was not open when we stayed but we looked in on the shower rooms and they were very nice (clean and modern). There is a communal lounge area with complimentary water and small snacks with a seating area which was a nice addition. There was an extremely nice Australian waiter in the restaurant who served us breakfast (breakfast was quite unusual sort off in-between Western and Japanese), he was very helpful and accommodating and pointed us in the right direction for the port after breakfast. The concierge recommended a local sushi restaurant for dinner which was great (Ikeda-ya 池田屋 寿司割烹店本店) and the hostess was absolutely lovely, though we were very fortunate to get a table with such a last minute reservation.

This definitely was an unexpected surprise, and probably the most well thought hotel we've stayed in our trip (so far 5 hotels) Small details make a huge difference and this hotel had them. For example, free ice cream, paintings in the hotel walls made by people with special needs, and when we arrived my wife said jokingly we should have brought the UNO card game to play at the UNO hotel... And when I went in the room, they indeed had one to play! So as I said, details count Breakfast is superb, Beautifully served and delicious. The Onsen experience is wonderful, and the staff like in most of Japan, go over themselves to help. Closeness to the ferry is a pro, and the views are very very nice as well.

Such a comfortable hotel moments from the ferry terminal so therefore very easy access to naoshima, Teshima, Inojima and all the other "art islands". Room was incredibly clean and comfortable. We loved how it was divided into three sections: the room with extremely comfortable western beds, a sitting area in a screened in porch with beautiful carved wood flooring, and an open-air balcony. Such a treat! The biggest highlight of all however was free use of the sensational onsen attached to the property. What a massive treat. It's a wonderful place and an excellent example of Japanese public baths. Stupendous stay!

It was new and modern and bright with communal facilities such as a kitchen/dining area. The room was a good size with a really comfortable bed and all the amenities you needed. We didn’t chose the sea view room but I wish we had as they looked out over the harbour which would have been wonderful at night. As part of your stay you get free access to the nearby onsen which was a fantastic facility. I would highly recommend staying here if you are planning to visit Naoshima as it is right next to the port.
